New Snowboard Design - Coldplay Edition

This is a snowboard that I created and only contains images from the Coldplay concert I saw last night at All Points West. I took well over 50-60 images with my iPhone. To get crazy blurry style images I faced my iPhone towards bright lights and moved my arm a little while taking a picture. This is a good way to come up with original images/art. My friend Melfi has several videos of the Coldplay concert. Specifically the "Lovers in Japan" where they released a lot of paper butterflies and we happened to be right underneath all of them. This was amazing being underneath all of the falling butterflies, it seemed like it was never going to end. Some of these layers are of those butterflies, the stage lights, and random lights in the crowd.

Software Used:
Adobe Photoshop CS4
Adobe After Effects CS4

So here is a video of each layer of the snowboard, one image at a time.

Let me know what you think. :)

Other videos from the concert (posted by Melfi):
Coldplay - "Billie Jean" (Michael Jackson Cover) Live at All Points West

Coldplay - "Fight for your Right" (Beastie Boys Cover) Live at All Points West

Very nice. I love it. I never thought of using iPhone pics due to it's low res for print but good idea.

Thanks :)

It's 16 different layers of images (shown in video) with 1 layer of shadows/lights to form the snowboard look, and 1 layer for the binding holes. All of the photos are of different objects, lights, the paper butterflies falling from the sky, no crowds, check out the "Lovers in Japan" video I linked to see what I mean. :)

Cool. There's certainly a money oportunity there somewhere...if you could slice thru the red tape. :) Somebody would certainly pay you to do that. Very creative, nice work.

I like your approach. Great use of the latest technologies to create something original. I have so many photographs. People forget that they can create their own textures, patterns and "stock" images. Great job.

Thanks, much appreciated. I have a lot of images that I take around the city, random interesting things that I place in my "Textures" Folder and then use later on in designs.

seems like layer 9 pretty much obscured all the layers that came before it. Still, cool end result, and very interesting to visualize the progression.

Amazing board man, I have been riding for 12 years now and have never seen something so dynamic and flowing...much like snowboarding itself, pimp, peace

Hey thanks, Layer 9 has a 75% opacity level. It does obscure some of the underlining layers a bit, but they are somewhat still visible.

I appreciate the kind words. :)
